remote learning technology

a new learning experience

The future of education is here and it’s never been more important. Schools across the globe are required to reinvent their classrooms to preserve the health of their students and personnel as well as respond to imminent conditions produced by the COVID-19 pandemic. AVDG is here to help you as a partner so you can continue taking the extra safety measures to keep your staff and students safe and comfortable.

Over a century ago, academic institutions turned to outdoor classrooms to respond to the health crisis that impacted the globe. While outdoor classrooms are still a great resolute, the technology available is revolutionary. From participant video walls to confidence monitors, to custom interfaces, AVDG can create an environment that equips professors, allows students to connect, and promotes collaboration. Virtual classrooms present infinite learning opportunities, allowing and professors students to simulate environments.

Learn more about ways that AVDG has helped integrate technology for academic institutions over the years.

University of the Pacific

The University of the Pacific launched the Physician’s Assistant Program at their Sacramento Campus. AVDG worked to bring their state-of-the-art classroom and training facilities to life. The project consisted of a large classroom, simulation lab, simulated patient intake rooms and conference rooms. From these spaces, teachers and students are able to simulate any clinical environment and record it using Simulation IQ. The technology in place also allows for remote learning by students and vise versa for teachers to teach classes remotely from the various campuses.

Shriram Center For Bioengineering and Engineering

The 206,000-square-foot Shriram Center for Bioengineering and Chemical Engineering Building is the new building at Stanford University. AVDG was contracted to provide the design and installation of the AV systems throughout several meeting spaces, 20 faculty offices, and large classrooms. Classrooms included tiered seating, multiple floor-boxes throughout for laptop connection, a custom lectern with confidence monitor, loop for assistive listening, and dual projector and screens. The system is controlled by a Crestron control panel with a custom programmed user interface.

the technology

For years, AVDG has collaborated with universities across the nation to design, engineer, and integrate state-of-the-art classrooms and training facilities. Each remote learning technology solution is designed to facilitate engagement between professors and participants. Technology-enhanced classrooms feature HD cameras for high resolution video, bidirectional microphones and speakers, custom lecterns with confidence monitors, participant video walls, and customer interfaces to promote collaboration.

the teaching experience

Remote learning solutions are designed to be adaptable and scalable for the ever-changing academic landscape. AVDG eliminates the complexity of technology through simulation labs, straightforward interfaces, and and custom programmed touchscreens so that instructors can focus on teaching. Whether classes take place on campus or completely remote, AVDG will integrate solutions that professors will be able to effortlessly leverage to make the most of every session.

virtual classroom components

Some of the features that can be quickly integrated in a classroom are cameras throughout the room delivering alternate views of the room, ceiling microphones providing high-quality directional sound, a participant wall allowing for greater communication and collaboration, confidence monitor allowing instructors to see participant’s view, touchscreen displays for simple distribution of content and interactive whiteboard.

control & interface

Simple interface allows students to quickly connect and leverage the software to engage with the professor and other classmates. The control panel allows the professor to take control of the room and easily manipulate the technology to maintain a real-time, dynamic experience with all of the class. Control panel analytics gather insights about the room usage allowing the professor and organization to make informed decisions about future spaces.

outdoor classrooms

Using outdoor spaces can be a way to reduce the impact of indoor classrooms while providing fresh air, a hands-on learning experience, and a new learning environment. Whether you find that you’d like to recreate a virtual classroom outdoors with all of cutting-edge technology, are in need of technology that can easily be relocated, or need a outdoor LED display, AVDG can create a solution to fit your needs. Outdoor technology that can stand the test of rain, snow, and direct sunlight, will create a space that is consistent, secure, and simple to manage.
