position summary: shades installer

AVDG is seeking an experienced Shades Installer whose primary responsibility is to measure and install low-voltage window treatment systems in home automation and commercial projects. You will collaborate with other installation technicians in the proper execution of all required installation techniques.

The successful candidate will have experience measuring, installing, and fabricating high-end shades and other window treatment products. You will be collaborating as a vital member of the install team to complete projects with an agile attitude, drive for excellence, and a passion for integrating innovative technology.

responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to the following:

  • Performs equipment measurement/installation/service and testing for proper operation as required for high-end shades and motorized window treatments.
  • Works with the builder/designer/customer to verify installation requests while setting the expectation.
  • Interacts with customers to explain installation procedures and functionality and the operation of the system.
  • Guides other technicians on-site, trains, and gives direction concerning best fabrication, measuring, and installation techniques.
  • Maintains communication with the Project Manager on the status of projects and associated task lists, attends company meetings, questions from other departments, and works with other departments to continue refining AVDG shades team processes and procedures.


to join our team, you’ll need the following experience:

  • Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or equivalent training/experience.
  • Minimum of two years related work experience in the installation of shades/window treatment industry preferred.
  • Strong proficiency with various window treatment brands and control systems such as Lutron, measurement expertise, carpentry experience, or fabrication experience required.
  • Must have experience leading teams with interpersonal solid leadership skills.
  • Works with a positive, can-do attitude and flexibility to change gears and solve problems.
  • Solid project planning, self-directed, agile, working in varied work environments, both commercial and residential, as required.
  • Must have a valid state license and a clean driving record, will drive a company vehicle.
  • Associate is to be fully vaccinated, per the CDC Definition.
