The Vermont Ski House project took place at a beautiful residential home in West Dover, Vermont, which overlooks the Mount Snow ski resort, located in the state’s Green Mountains. With stunning mountain views from their backyard, the homeowners wanted to discreetly hide all technology integrations and window treatments, so that they could enjoy an unobstructed view from any window.
The family also wanted to blend technology within the environment, so that it would not detract from the design and architecture of the home. AVDG worked closely with the home’s architects to seamlessly integrate each solution, while achieving the client’s audio-visual and home-automation goals.
motorized window treatments
AVDG installed motorized window treatments, creating custom shade pockets so that the shades could be completely hidden when not in use. This helped maintain the stunning mountain views from the home’s large windows, while also providing much-needed privacy and shading.
The project featured high-end distributed audio throughout the home’s primary living area. The audio solution included trimless Small Aperture® speakers from James Loudspeaker. This enabled the speakers to be flush with the ceiling and discreetly blended in with the lighting, while providing clear, high-quality sound.
Using our Millson WireFrame and Rack Frame infrastructure, AVDG provided an efficient and clean mechanical room where core AV components could be neatly stored and managed. Efficiency was a key player here, as AVDG built and tested the system in our New Hampshire Production Center, prior to delivering it to the residence as a fully built, plug-and-play AV rack.
control system
Window treatments, audio, and other components throughout the home were integrated with Lutron Homeworks QS. This gave the clients simple, intuitive control of their systems from a single interface.
